This method is called sushi roll not because of the pattern or indicator that resembles the food . According to Fisher, the sushi roll-style reversal trading technique was introduced at lunch time by a group of traders, so the correlation may be related to the lunch menu eaten by these traders.
This strategy has been tested on the stock index market, specifically on the movement of the NASDAQ between 1990 and 2004 . The backtest is intended to compare the performance of the sushi roll technique with the buy-and-hold strategy that investors in the stock market rely on quite a lot. As a result, the sushi roll reversal trading technique can generate a return of 29.31%, while the buy-and-hold strategy only produces a profit of 10.66%.
